Furthermore Sg already increase to take in 42% of cohort enter local 6 U every year.
And with plenty private Us in Sg, why spent more for overseas when there is no guarantee can landed "degree level paid" job in Sg.

UK master degree is just a 9- month course. Not much thing you can learn from there, whereas master degree in Europe is a 2-year course.

My relatives went to 北大as a moe scholar. Only managed to get second upper class.

NUS and NTU also depend very much on the  ah tiong to remain on the top few positions.  Many lecturers and researchers are from there. Majority of the phd and master students are also from there

SG's Chinese clans associations are aware of the problem SG student had been facing since COVID in those Angmoh countries...

So for safety reason and trend in the coming years, they focus more on providing scholarship to study in Chinese U.
