Why raised GST to 9%:IF Temasek GIC & MAS claimed largest contributors to Budgets

Why raised GST to 9%?

"Temasek's chief executive Ho Ching proclaimed that investment returns by Temasek, GIC and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) are the “single largest contributor” to Singapore's budget."

If they can do it then, why can't they do it now?

With advanced technology, and internet services there's no reasons why Temasek, GIC and MAS together performing worse today than they were 15 years ago.

Why a need to raise GST to 9%?

Are they not using Norwegian SWF as their benchmark?

Norwegian SWF reported ROI US$222.2 billions in one year.

Temasek and GIC invested in different types of assets class as compared to Norwegian SWF.

That's why Norwegians SWF ROI US$222.2 billions in 2024 while both Singapore SWFs crying foul..

ROI near zero - not acceptable
