It is a common remarks why he take it so seriously? He thought incamp training HR may consider him holiday and deduct his leave ?....The period is being paid by Mindef not HR company.

I encountered this level of ignorance from my Malaysian lady boss when I was a 28-year-old NSman reporting for my first ICT. She remarked that it is better to hire foreigners and female staff since both do not have to serve NS, and the women would probably get pregnant only once or twice during their period of employment, whereas male citizens were called up almost every year.

Foreigners enjoy all the privileges, but shoulder none of the responsibilities that S'porean males do.

NSmen are taken for granted by both the SG Govt and many of our women. Foreigners working here know they have dodged a bullet by being exempt from NS.
