The U.S. has lost shipbuilding capability already, not enough shipyards and skilled workers…remember the U.S. nuclear submarine that hit the undersea mountain in SCS 2 years ago,? the latest news says it will be repaired by 2025 the earliest and it is in the priority queue, why so slow knowing the damage was minor?…this kind of speed how to compete with Chinese shipbuilders that can get ships repaired within weeks.
