The mountain trail road are so scenic and magnificent. But it is winding and dangerous. I was in Jiuzhai-kou in 2006 going from mountain to mountain and sceneries are so fantastic. But, earthquake struck in 2008 and killed 30,000 over people, mostly children. Natural disaster is scary.

I went to see the ball before. When you vsit the ball room they will show you video of how the ball stabilise the building during the last earth quake.

When the quake swing the building left the ball will dampen the swing by going right.

When I went to Taiwan j market out all the areas not to go due to earthquake.

But Hualian was a "must go" so i never thought of the risk....could have died if earth quake struck.
