During first National Day Rally (NDR) as Singapore’s PM Lawrence Wong shared how the govt would be making significant changes in policies to support S'pore workers & jobseekers during current uncertain economic environment.
S'pore’s broad middle workers matter, especially during challenging economic times, emphasised the importance of S'pore’s broad middle to continue to prosper in S'pore, saying: “We have seen what happens in other countries, they broad middle falls behind, centre does not hold. Societies begin to fracture & collapse.”

He added: “Do not assume such cannot happen here. It can & will – unless decisive actions to prevent it. “We need a renewed social compact where every S'porean feels there is hope; where all citizens, even most disadvantaged amongst us, know, they can get a fair shot in life & can get ahead if they make effort and work hard.”
