If not for him – his erstwhile mentor Chiam See Tong & late Workers’ Party leader Jeyaretnam and later Low Thia Khiang, S'pore would not have much opposition politics to talk.
Whereas Chiam was less confrontationist, but Dr Chee was always pushing for political envelope. He has lately displayed a more approachable persona. (I think is good, if he better managing his business opening his own restaurant is better for him..lehh).
Do we need a Dr Chee in Parliament?.
The live GE2020 TV debate eg: showed public could not be expected to hear only one-sided debates. A views of Workers’ Party’s for eg: Jamus Lim who then made debate for viewers thoroughly engaged & seriously. do we need a alternative views that hope can capture public’s imagination or to add life do we all need another fresher views? or a another drama to add to another drama’s sake...Rotfl

Throw a kitchen sink at him, and he’ll keep coming back like a scene from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator. Instead of licking his wounds after the boundaries in Bukit Batok were redrawn, Dr Chee said that the ward he previously contested in was unfairly “yanked away” from him. But there is nothing stopping him now. Chee has found a new stomping ground for his upcoming campaign in 2025. Dubbed as SDP’s Northern Strategy, SDP eyes the Northern districts of Singapore.
The Independent Singapore has followed him on his campaign trail and saw him firsthand doing house visits and greeting residents in Woodlands. Sembawang West, the newly minted single-member constituency, is a familiar ground for SDP, and the ground team has been covering this constituency since 2011.

A clip taken during his walkabout of Marine Parade last Saturday (March 22) has been taken out of context, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Edwin Tong said on Sunday, Minister Tong, who is also an MP for Marine Parade GRC, was at a walkabout where he interacted with residents at a coffee shop in Marine Terrace, part of the new Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC.
Facebook user Kent Lau later posted an edited video of Tong's interactions, wherein he appears to be speaking animatedly to a group of elderly men. However, one of them raises a hand, purportedly pointing his middle finger as video is slowed down. The video then cuts to a volunteer speaking to Minister Tong, where the former can be seen pointing at the camera with a serious look on his face.
Speaking with the media on Sunday, Tong said that the reception he received at the walkabout was warm and that the video was being used by some sites to place him in a negative light. "I think it is obvious (that it was) to push an agenda, I think, quite clearly for a political objective," said Tong. He also pointed out that Lau, who uploaded the original video, had clarified that his content had been taken out of context.
