Free mrt rides for seniors 65 and above in S KOREA
#1

Free rides have been a perk enjoyed nationally by those 65 and older for four decades and are credited with keeping senior citizens active.

When  will  seniors here  be treated similarly?

many cities in world been giving free rides to seniors and some til citizens

even ccp selective cities offer free rides to seniors too

if sg gonna give free rides to seniors
who's gonna pay the ceos and shareholders to maintain their luxurious and elegant lifestyle so as to remain world class transport in the entire world

in short,

sg is for the miw and their cronies only not for you and me and normal human beings

ever see them going green,

giving up their continental cars for public transport

or

simply ''empty vessels make the most noise''

or

making wise comment

such as ''mrt cannot cope if all commuters chooses to board and travel at the same time''

face the fact please,

they only care for themselves,

whatever freebies given out will be just temporary but gotta be in their honor

be GRAPEful you have them as your government

amen

Rich country like SG with huge reserves surely can well afford.

At least let the present cohort of seniors enjoy this free stuff before they kick the bucket.
How many more years can they reap?

After all, they have also contributed to nation building and helped built up the mammoth reserves that we now have accumulated.

For a start, they can introduce free rides for seniors during the off peak periods.

Anyway, many seniors are immobile and  many also prefer to stay put at home.
So the cost to this project is not much.

Hopefully ,the relevant authorities have a heart if they really care for the seniors here .

Public transport should be nationalised and funded under operating budget just like education.
Profits should not creep into their numbskulls.

$6.46 billion COE collected each year is more than enough to fund 677k senior above 65 years old

WORKERS PARTY or PSP should be sharp enough to quickly pick up and lobby forcefully this matter in Parliament.

If free transport for seniors is implemented successfully and is the effort of opposition parties,  we can expect a huge portion of senior votes jumping to the oppo.

PAP cannot afford to lose those precious elderly votes, otherwise they may not be the incumbent government next.

As long as dumbfarks kept voting PAP....it will never happen lah.

Dumbfark forget last time transport was under PAP. But too much work so delegated to private to screw dumbfarks while they shake legs and collect more $.

Strongly support. They should give free rides to seniors who mostly should be retirees without an income. Let them go out without worrying about transport cost.

I once saw a handicap guy who could only move his head had to ask driver take his card to pay. That's how evil PAP can be.

If it is funded fully by the huge reserves pay what more??
So many other countries are providing free transport for seniors and retirees  .

Young people will grow old one day, eventually they will  also enjoy free transport if the system is in place.

social burden should not be on shoulder of any organization except government. that is why government are allow to collect tax. to pay for things that needs to be done and no one can or willingto do.

If it is free your parents, grand parents and senior relatives also will benefit from the system.
