黄曲霉菌（aflatoxin) often exists in those low cost pet feeds which are not properly kept and stored. it will spread around and causing harms to humans

By hamster are you referring to those rats that people kept in cage that run on a paddle wheel and looking cute? If they are then I think it is an unhealthy past time. My room mate kept two for fun but they multiplied so fast until they became more than a dozen. Then the whole house stank of rats' urine which gave a burning sensation to the nostrils. In the end he disposed of those creatures (I dunno what he do.. gave away or let go)............
