Homuz is a false threat. It is good so long as theh don't execute. If you do everyone will know its a useless threat.

The Hormuz is not a dead choke point for oil to flow out from Iran, Iraq, UAE, and Saudi. If it is sealed up completely those countries can still export their oil through other routes but slight more inconvenient only.

Iran does not have to actually block the hormuz

US warships moving closer/ into the hormuz to preempt Iranian blockade is enough to increase tensions to the point no insurer will risk any tanker traffic through the hormuz, especially on the back of houthi red sea blockade

Doing a blockage hurts many middle east nations.that export oil for revenue rather than Israel which has ,no oil to export.

It means Iran harming everyone and more that oil exporting nations in the middle East.

Blockage on Homuz ....is not a good idea for Iran. 

It gives US a good pretext to act and save the world.

Now US and Israel can go and bomb every missile silo and sink Iranaian navy to free up Houz for the world and middle east.
