102-yr-old makan spot is here to stay. At least for another two years mkt houses about 16 stalls, including popular ones like Long House Soon Kee (Boneless) Duck Rice, Bugis Street Chuen Chuen Chicken Rice and Miao Sin Popiah.

Often, seems her parking her BMW just outside .

Hawkers who overcharge deserve to go bust. I voted with my wallet and feet after being overcharged at Balestier Market more than 12 years ago! I have never been back there again.

The days of good quality cheap food with generous portions are over at hawker centres with crazy rents and greedy stallholders.

Agree fully.

All those greedy hawkish bastards who upped their food prices unjustifiably will fail in their businesses. They don't deserve buying support at all.

Many hawkers feel that since CDC vouchers are free cash from SG government ,they also should be entitled to  it....thus charge consumers sky high prices.
