What is the difference between external and internal SSD?

They are exactly the same, the only difference being the connection. The internal ssd uses sata and the external ssd uses usb. Some external ssd's (mostly old ones) use firewire snd thunderbolt. An External SSD bus speed won't be compared with an Internal SSD bus speed.

Cloning: HDD to SSD. Sometimes the password for 3rd party program format is changed. Windows password doesn't change but windows updates maybe be a problem. Lesser problems with 3rd parties drivers.

I won't trust data storage devices from shopee, Lazada or qoo10 if your data is important to you. Too many fakes and capacity is overstated. I bought a fake Samsung sdcard before from qoo10. on the other hand, I bought from Amazon.sg (and seller is Amazon, not third party) and product is authentic.

I have purchased few SSD online before… Sandisk ultra 500GB is a good choice(Faster speed compare to most of the card type SSD) if you do not want to go for faster M2 NVMe Gen 3 or Gen4  SSD.

There are few ways to clone your SSD…

If you know mandarin, you can try this method if you want to. See below clip.

Using partition magic a bit complicated.

These are fake products with only 128MB

I once you wrote more data it overwrites older data.

Buy reputable brands for storage. You are putting lots of important data inside don't take risks.

It shd be a USB 2.0 speed Thumb drive not USB 3 Thumb drive. You can run using crystal disk benchmark to check the speed performance.

Below example shows M2 NVMe Gen 4 SSD. It shows 6661 MB/s reading speed, writing speed 4950 MB/s writing speed.

To me storage size is more important than transfer speed. Usb 2.0 is ok with me for cheap 2TB storage
