Yes can ask the control station staff.

All cards have the date of expiry shown on them.

It will be more difficult to early detect wrong bus fare deduction if You cant see the amount deduct on the spot upon exiting the gantry or alighting the bus. Going to simplygo app to check will be tedious.

A new system replacement must always be more superior than the old one and it must be back to back compatible otherwise it will be a waste of money.

Think if u have posb or Ocbc should be able to transfer back to yr bank account cos you can use this bank to top up.

Now Flash card can be transferred thru ATM UOB since it can top up
.I think Ezlink should be abled to thru DBS/PoSB or Ocbc . You can try......
you can tranfer the old card balance to the  new card
Destinated MRT station can do it for u as well.
Fyi not all ATM has the service.
Passion Senior card is also a Ezlink card
