So the practice of not being vaccinated is to make the iron teeth relent, and go for the vaccination, it is indirectly making all who had not jabbed, think twice to refuse to be jabbed.  It may not be compulsory but with so many restrictions many will simply get the 2 or3 jabs... crying

ICU stay one day is $980 before subsidy. Right now all taxpayers pay for it. Want to be unvaxxed, then it's fair to pay your own bills.

A few weeks ago, I heard from Steven Chia who is a media commentator, that there is a travel insurance that covers covid illness.

Insurance is all about risk. What are the chances of getting infected if one travels to a heavily infected country like UK now? Lets assume underwriters estimate at 70% chance. So basing on this kind of high risk, insurance companies will definitely charge very high premium. Thus, I think insurance is not a good option. Better dun travel if you have to pay for hospitalization unless it is extremely essential ............ Rolleyes

To be fair, when govt did not offer inactivated vaccine, it doesn't make sense to push such a bill. But now that govt allows any vaccine and even had sinovac, inactivated vaccine, on national scheme, there is little excuse not to get vaccination.

If the bulk of the serious cases are unvaccinated as mentioned by govt. Then it is fair that all should be vaccinated and those that do not want to will have to foot for their own bills. The big clause is that for the vaccinated, according to their healthhub status, must get all their medical bills fully covered and not based on some black box claim system that rejects over 60%.

It's just like the case of 225k payment that did not materialize for most cases. Hope that the medical bill full coverage is for real. Else trust is totally fine for good.

I echo your stance that govt. had now allowed the jabs to be Sinovac, therefore there is no excuse not to get vaccinated.... Rolleyes

The question still remains on the part of the medical cost coverage and whether it indeed is for real.

Also, some of the vaccinated folks will be asking govt why they can't get the same coverage now since they were very obedient to follow the rules upfront instead of waiting till now.

Hopefully for those vaccinated and hospitalized they should also be getting their bills paid by govt now and not put of own pocket. Just like that 4 year old case that is in hospital, the govt should pay for all medical bills if the parents and household is already fully vaccinated.

It is only logical that the govt. should be responsible for paying the cost of hospital bills if the citizen is infected with Covid-19 when they are fully vaccinated with 3 jabs of the vaccine, be it Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac or Sinopharm... Big Grin
