Last time moi Hong Kong friends said he like to direct fake CAT3 moobies to cheat $$$ when most of his directed moobies are actually only CAT2b at best that like to use fake nude scene to co(k tease people nia. 
Though some of moi friends do enjoy his chase girlfriend series at that era.
Personally for moobies with him as director, only like his version of heaven sword and dragon slaying sabre and gamble god series nia, don't really have much memories of his other directed moobies.
But as producer and script writer, his name do seem to be in many popular blockbuster in the 80s and 90s era. Especially those that he cooperated with Stephen Chow.
However moi had stop watching HK moobies since the late 2000s and early 2010, so not sure if moobies involved him are still popular after that.
