why aren't rice cookers as common with indians as they are for east asians?

The lower income Indians in India have no money for rice cooker or even rice cookers. The middle/upper-class households in India employ cooks. If you have a cook, that cook can spend time to monitor the heat and water during the manual way of cooking rice. East Asians have no time and patience for sh!t like this.

The issue is rice cooker can only cook plain rice, which is not suitable for cooking Indian rice, they need to add a lot of spices and ghee.

Not sure sure why South Asians don't use rice cooker....But I know, unlike them, we East Asians uses chopsticks regardless of one's "caste status".
