Our currency can be said to be pegged to the mighty USD.
Due to the trade war and supply chain dismantling, our regional currencies had fallen. The regional trades had fallen. The many increases in interest rate in the USD together with the monetary tightening by the USD as it takes the money out of the financial system, money will be shifting to the place that offer higher interest rate.
Why our currency is still so strong while our currency is expected to have fallen like our regional currencies? We likely used our money to prevent the fall. This in turn made our currency stronger and allow us to buy more things.

If the USD don't take a chuck of their currency out of the world financial system, together with over-printing previously, it will be in deep shit when BRICS come out with its own trading currency.
That's why Singapore always facing undesirable foreign actors, or politicians, looking towards our downfalls.
There are many Taiwanese whom hate Singapore. Or many ex Singapore opposition figure migrated there. And received support from the Taiwanese politicians.
