In a new book, Mr Morrison points to "pure physical exhaustion" and the "unrelenting and callous brutality of politics" as central to his struggles.
He said he was sharing his story to "de-stigmatise" mental illness.

Australians vs (new) Australians?
Which one has more "mental problem" ?
Picture two people - One was born in Australia, the other in Asia.
Hopefully, both could be treated on a voluntary basis, taking into account their individual needs, preferences and capacity to consent.
However, our research published in British Journal of Psychiatry Open suggests this is not the case. In the largest study globally of its kind, we found Australians are more likely to be treated in hospital for their acute mental illness against their will if they are born overseas, speak a language other than English or are unemployed..

There is one in SGtalk …. not only mental issue …. bery bitter and salty of SG success
There should be a spike in mental issues among S'poreans in the near future since we are living cheek by jowl like farm animals in our overcrowded city state. More than 80% are crammed into pigeon holes called HDB flats with little to no prospect of ever upgrading to private housing no matter how hard they work.

I fail to see any fact in your statement given the fact there are many Asian countries with "80%" or more staying in "pigeon holes" from major cities like HK to Tokyo to Taipei to Seoul...and yet we see far fewer knife killings and crimes in those places compare to Aussie land cities...
Or perhaps there is some thing to do with drugs or culture ?
