LKY set the PAP on the current road of "money politics". By "competitive" wages, LKY meant that ministers' salaries must be pegged against the top earners in S'pore. He realised that sacrifice for the nation is not the same for today's political leaders as it was for the Old Guard.

How about our Opposition leaders? 
Why until today, not even one dare coming out to declare taking over PAP, be the Government of Singapore and Singaporean?

Every countries opposition leaders screaming for votes to topple the ruling party. But not in Singapore? Why?
Don't they want to work for Singaporean?
Is there a reason behind it?

say people do not want to be full-time Ministers

yet they want full -time Ministers salary

Why not show us that they can get a high ranking job in China, Australia or HK?

Obviously, those 3 countries you mentioned above have better experienced and more capable candidates than those in Singapore..
