BANGKOK (BLOOMBERG) - Thailand plans to decriminalise marijuana, moving a step closer to clearing its use for recreation, after becoming the first country in South-east Asia to legalise medical cannabis and its use in food and cosmetics.

Problem for neighbouring countries!
Going the wrong direction.
Its a steep downhill.
USA started the trend...
Big pharmas will not be happy as Cannabis extracts can be use as cancer and covid drugs.

Cannabis could prevent Covid, study claims

Quote:The next breakthrough in stopping Covid-19 may come not from Big Pharma, but from the humble pot plant. Researchers in Oregon in the US discovered that two compounds found in the devil’s lettuce can stop the virus in its tracks.

Rather than attempting to smoke their way to immunity, a team of scientists at the University of Oregon isolated two compounds from hemp – cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) – and found that they bind to the coronavirus’ spike protein and in turn prevent it from binding to the outer membrane of human cells.

This latter binding process is normally how the virus enters the human lungs and other organs.

The two compounds are precursors to CBG and CBD, which are widely legal and available to consumers. CBG and CBD cannabis oils and extracts are commonly used to treat anxiety, sleep disorders, epilepsy, and a wide range of other ailments.
Soon, many of the Thai men in rural areas will be smoking this all day instead of farming. Maybe Thailand will become a net importer of rice.

They are decriminalising for recreational use. Medical use I think most if not all countries allowed but under strict conditions.
Well, the government will make good money on it. The thing with weed is that people already smoke it, and legalizing it makes sense. It helps to get more control over the market and prevent the initial weed users from going down the hill and switching to heavier drugs.

I’m not saying it’s the best thing that can happen to a state, but it’s an adequate decision. Canada did that, and nothing terrible happened. It’s totally legal here to own up to 30 grams of weed and grow up to 6 plants, and the whole country didn’t turn into a big smoking pot. People who use it just buy weed from places like one of the best dispensaries in Burlington and don’t have to worry about getting issues with the police. It makes them less likely to get connected to the criminal world.
