CNA, which calls itself Channel News Asia, is fast becoming a national joke alongside SPH. Instead of reporting news from an Asian perspective, most of its articles on overseas topics are now simply re-postings of Western Europe and US media like AFP, AP, NYT, Reuters etc. Like that I might as well just subscribe to a news aggregator, there's even more variety.

If CNA wants to be lazy or cut cost, can it at least try to re-post news from prominent newspapers across Asian countries instead?

Just like this article above - why is this even worth the bandwidth to publish in the first place? Australia is not part of Asia, neither is it a country of consequence in global politics. Who cares what they say of what China should do? I can understand if US or EU say something, but Australia?

It's just a country with a small population with a relatively high GDP per capita made mostly by selling natural resources and agricultural products. It has neither geopolitical, diplomatic, military, technological nor economic influence on a global level. Their views are worth a couple of bucks more than New Zealand's at best.

Yea pretty much all it does is reproduce with permission the usual western media outlets. Even a news aggregator is better, at least most news apps these days can customize source and AI helps to narrow recommended interesting articles.
