Seems to me that NATO is actually quite redundant as any conventional war with Russia will mean the major LNG terminals being wiped out. EU will freeze before NATO can inflict any pain on Russia.
If the US-led NATO uses nuclear weapons, that will mean the end of the western world since Russia's counter attack will also make sure US targets/cities are flattened.
