Really is disgusting Ceca behavior to shake the bridge 🌉. Only brainless people do that
Freaking morons.
This bridge is only for limited people to stand on it or continuous people walking along.
Every bridge has a resonance frequency. At that resonance frequency, any kind of bridge will swing and swing violently until it collapses. If these people had known and been told, the bridge should not have collapsed.

Supposedly 4 times overloaded when the bridge collapsed.
And I guess the "renovation" was done on the floorboard and the side netting. The 2 main suspension cables were likely from the 19th century era and never replaced.

Quote:The tragedy occurred around 6:30pm local time on Sunday, when some 500 people, including women and children, were crossing the bridge, which was only intended to support the weight of around 125, according to officials.

The 230-meter bridge was built in the 19th century, during British rule. It was closed for renovations for the past seven months and was reopened to the public this week.

Over in Spore, we also have a suspension bridge over at the "Asia southern-most point" in Sentosa.
Some park goers also like shake it, but fortunately it didn't break as easily.

DumbFarks are a special breed................hope they died ..............
Perhaps this is one "talent" India can export - Footbridge integrity field consultant and auditor.
more likely rowdy or not caused the bridge to vibrate
The harmonic waves caused a resonance frequency the bridge not designed to take.

IMO, there is nothing wrong with 博爱... What matter is this British colonial era bridge was reportedly being refurbished recently.

What is shocking is this happened in Gujarat - the hometown state of India's PM Modi in the mist of on-going Deevapali celebration.

Up till now, rescuers are still looking for missing victims in the river, which itself is covered by thick layer of green algae.

Basically it is a case of overload. Just sell as many tickets as possible to recover the costs with no control of number of people that should be on the bridge.

The Sentosa bridge is 2-way and nylon rope suspended, so it will sway even when people are just walking across. Naturally some will try to shake it further.

The Macritchie tree top walk bridge on the other hand seems narrower, and is suspended by stiff stainless steel cables.
Traffic is only one way (single file) so don't think it is easy to shake it.
And I believe NParks budget should be quite high, so maintenance checks/repairs should be quite frequent.

Actually, the Sentosa rope bridge is a bit like this:
They never enforce what weight can pass through.
Modi home state some more.

All these brainless people happy can Liao
whatever u do on the bridge ,
don't everyone does the same at the same time
whether playing marching or not
just in case it creates the bridge resonance frequency
