I am making arrangement to visit China for business trip soon. Just had a meeting with my colleague in China to make the necessary arrangement on the week 9 January 2023. Will travel around Beijing and Shanghai for a period of 7 days prior to the Lunar New Year.

Need to catch up with my distributors and new staff.

There will definitely be collateral deaths, but I believe the Chinese gov have done their sums, if not they wouldn't have approved the drastic reopening of border in Jan 8. Surely they couldn't afford to drag another 3 years of zero-covid for the 0.01 - 0.001% who will die of their underlying illnesses when worsened by Covid. Newly approved anti-covid drugs will also help for those with severe or high risks of developing severe covid symptoms.

And I think it may also be a good time now for the ongoing mass infection to gain some form of herd immunity as US is more unlikely to introduce a new and more deadly variant during this winter. If they do so, it will boomerang back to hit them badly as well.
