Kra canals will benefit Singapore tremendously, Shell closed Bukom and Jurong island refineries will give fresh and cleaner air reducing terminal illness and cancers

No pirates in Singapore water terrorising seafarers and cruise ships. 

Encourage leisure fishing and more sailing

More peace and lesser patrolling for Navy coast guards and submarines - saving a lot of $$$.

The construction is not that difficult.
The main obstacle is maintaining the kra canal. 
The whole stretch of the canal will be guarded by Thai. High cost in security force.
Nobody will help them. Don’t forget there are terriorists in Southern Thai. Piracy is another big headache.
