My wife bought me a bottle of Gingko pills because it is supposed to improve my poor memory. After 1 month, she asked me if there was any improvement. I really didn't know because I forgot to take any of those damn pills! LOL!

Ginkgo dilates blood vessels so I don't think it will be healthy to take it long-term _if_ one's diet isn't healthy.
The dilation will only give a temporary relief but the "extra space" (cross section) that allows increased blood flow in the dilated blood vessels will slowly gets clogged up with plaque again.

So for a beneficial long-term use of Ginkgo, I guess a largely vegan/vegatarian diet with Omega 3 and healthy oils (both to minimise plaque formation and use of statin) plus other essential vitamins.
