Ive been there like 100x and dont recall theres any bridge there except the one from mainland to the swamp that go across the river. More likely its the boardwalk plank that could have broke but quite unlikely too as the planks are pretty solid.

Flooding lah. He cannot see the hole through the water.

I remembered seeing a girl disappearing in the flood while walking along Tanjong Katong Road. I was on a bus then and saw her disappearing like magic. Later I found out that she fell into the drain. Because of the flood, she cannot see the drain and dropped inside. That was back in the 1980s.

What I meant was that during bad weather he shouldn't even be bringing his family to these type of wetlands.
