Singapore’s moribund IPO market looks to Reits for lifeline...S'pore’s stagnant initial public offering (IPO) mkt relying on a boost of or in 2025 from real estate investment trusts (Reits). Constructive on equity cap markets in Spore for 4th quarter and onwards,” equity capital mkts for S.E.A & India at BNP Paribas said investors have already started asking questions about Reits. Issuance Reits may need much-needed shot in the arm for S'pore’s stock exchange, to set for its plan year for IPOs in a more than a quarter of a century.

Just one company has raised money from an IPO on exchange in 2024, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Insiders are worried about chances of a revival. While Japan’s Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) is considering a data centre Reit listing could be worth as much as US$1 billion (S$1.28 billion), and bankers are optimistic other Reit managers will follow, in part because of the recent rally in the sector.

Noted: An index for S'pore-based Reits has risen 14% during 3rd quarter, coming close to wiping out losses from earlier in year, as global decline in interest rates makes sector more attractive to investors. SINGAPORE - Shares of offshore marine engineering company Seatrium have risen sharply in recent days from a combination of short covering, institutional buying and share buybacks.
Counter surged to intraday high @$1.61 around 10am on Sept 3. At midday break, it's up 1.3% @$1.57 with heavy 27.5m shares changing hands.
Stock closed at $1.45 on Aug 29, b4 climbing 2% Aug 30 & 4.7% on Sept 2. Based midday trading price on Sept 3, it risen more then 8% in just three trading sessions.>>>
