Absolutely. I think it's nonsense for the govt to roll out this scheme. What the hawkers will do is simply cut corners.

I received a rude shock when I paid $3.50 for a plate of vegetarian bee hoon from Ghim Moh Hawker Centre, and was presented with a kid's meal portion.

Em . . . Now, I know why PAP must using bidding to OVER- price hawker stalls

Then they can negotiate with the hawkers using T&C and additional Agreement

to over- pay for expensive central cleaning services, under-charge for budget meals . . . .

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Food quality and quantity already cmi for many food stalls.. still wanna be budget and cut corners! On the other hand, trying to celebrate hawker culture (national heritage of culture and pride?) while its neglected and going down the drain..

Wil the Govt listen? They wil only opposed what Oppositions proposed, most of the time, if not all the time. Becos the pappies thought they are always right all the time.

I thought this idea came from that Sim Ann?

She is not defending her idea because she is busy with her Full- time job elsewhere?

Long time ago at Toa Poyoh market, there was a economic rice stall selling 2 meat, 2 veg at $2.2.

Why not make every market have this option? So they have a last resort for decent meal with proper veg and meat.

That PAP should encourage only neighbours within the 2 Blocks of HDB

to sell food so that Kampung Spirit to take care of elderly

Cannot sell to the whole estate as HDB kitchen is not installed with Fire Safety measures

and can only prepare & cook around for 4 pax per hour

Cut corners then might as well eat at home

It is the old elderly that gets cut throat by coffee shop

Because PAP cannot protect the old and vulnerable

I cook my own fried rice with tiger prawn is around $2.75 ( exclude electricity)

I was talking about quantity - not quality - in my earlier post about that vegetarian bee hoon stall.

Nowadays hardly any food can be bought at $3.50 per plate.

Norm is $5 and above.

Must thank hawkers who still sell at $3.50.

the govt should not burden the hakwers by increasing prices of everything and still expect hawkers to come up with budget meals...

the root cause is not the hawkers
its pap incompetance in managing inflation

The inflations is also due to Govt overspent and print too much.
