M'sians seek penalties for foreigners buying subsidised fuel: SG cars viral
#1

A video of a woman with a Singapore-registered car doing so went viral."

RON95 fuel in Malaysia is partly subsidized by the government to maintain low prices for lower-income groups and is only for sale to Malaysia-registered vehicles.

But despite the ban on sales to foreign-registered cars since 2010, many visitors from neighboring Singapore have still found ways to illegally access the cheap petrol, which is reserved for locals at discounts of up to 70%, according to the South China Morning Post."

Suggestion

All foreign registered cars with 1/4 tank fuel or less are allowed into Malaysia.

A fine will be imposed for any excess over the limits .

Most sinkie do not just drive over just to pump cheap fuel nia, normally they will also do grocery shopping and have their meals there. Moi know quite a few friends\relatives that do this on weekly basis to drive their family over to shop and jiak, then before drive back red dot will go pump full tank. And most of the time the $$$ they sent on the food and shopping ish much much more than the $$$ they spent on pumping fuel.

This ish why most jihu kias that moi know, especially those still living around JB, ish mainly komplain about sinkie driving up their cost of living in JB rather than sinkie pumping their fuel. The later to them ish more like a joke they use to laugh at sinkie being cheapskate rather than something that really affect their living.

So moi suggest boleh land govt better also apply tariffs on sinkie that go shop there.

There was a time when the country asked ordinary men to do extraordinary things.

But now, they'll only do it for money.
