You think that heartless Shoot Blank Queen cares?

Even Si- Long will implement his Compass Framework in Sept 2023

giving FTs 18 MTHS chance to apply for PR

to make it easier for them to replace citizens in their jobs

HP cutting up to 6,000 jobs over next three years; Singapore impact unknown

NEW YORK - HP will eliminate 4,000 to 6,000 jobs over the next three years amid declining demand for personal computers that has cut into profits.

To manage costs, HP will cut as much as 10 per cent of its 61,000-employee global workforce over the next three years and reduce its real estate footprint, chief executive officer Enrique Lores said on Tuesday.

On the impact to the Singapore workforce, an HP spokesman told The Straits Times: “We are not disclosing any region or country details.”

Why so many are retrenching.?
So simple, many come from Uptron or similar kinds of so called certification.
Worst part of all, the whole kampong also come along, something like package deal.
When it reach saturation point, this is what many of these companies will do.
Let see how many more ceca can sg continue to import..?

DoorDash lays off 1,250 employees to rein in operating expenses

DoorDash is laying off 1,250 people in an effort to rein in costs, the company’s CEO Tony Xu said in a message to employees on Wednesday. Xu’s message notes that the pandemic presented unprecedented opportunities to serve merchants and consumers, and as a result, DoorDash sped up hiring to catch up with growth. Xu says although most of the company’s investments are paying off, it did not properly manage team growth.

“Most of our investments are paying off, and while we’ve always been disciplined in how we have managed our business and operational metrics, we were not as rigorous as we should have been in managing our team growth,” Xu wrote. “That’s on me. As a result, operating expenses grew quickly.”

HSBC cutting at least 200 senior operations managers globally: Sources

HONG KONG – HSBC is cutting as many as 15 per cent of its 2,000 senior operations managers worldwide, as it attempts to streamline its management ranks and reduce costs, two sources with knowledge of the matter said.

The global job cuts at the bank will fall across several business units and geographical locations and result in the loss of at least 200 positions, mostly with the title of chief operating officer (COO), the sources said.

HSBC, which used to position itself as the world’s local bank, employs many COOs because country and business lines have their own separate COOs, the sources said.

From CNN to Paramount, Media Companies Cut Jobs as Pressures Mount

Entertainment and publishing firms look to trim costs amid streaming losses and ad slowdown

An advertising slowdown, economic worries and strains of the shift to streaming have many major media companies in cost-cutting and layoff mode.

News organizations, TV networks, movie and television studios, and entertainment giants laid off hundreds of workers over the past week alone, including Warner Bros. Discovery Inc.’s WBD -0.69%decrease; red down pointing triangle CNN and Paramount Global PARA 1.04%increase; green up pointing triangle‘s television-production units.

The moves come after many entertainment companies spent the past few years spending heavily on streaming services that are now a drag on financial results. Traditional broadcast and cable television, meanwhile, continue to face viewer and subscriber erosion.

Add on fears of a recession and a slowdown in ad spending, and an industry that managed to survive and in some cases thrive as audiences swelled during the Covid-19 pandemic is now in retreat.
