Denmark Confirms Transfer of Entire F-16 Fleet to Ukraine Following US F-35 Acquisition.

April 21, 2024, during an interview with Euromaidan Press, Denmark's Ambassador to Ukraine, Ole Egberg Mikkelsen confirmed Denmark's intention to transfer its remaining fleet of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine following the sale of 24 F-16s to Argentina. This decision is part of Denmark's broader shift to the newer F-35 model, aligning with similar moves by other European nations, a group that recently included Portugal.

As of 2023, Denmark's F-16 fleet includes 34 F-16AM & 10 F-16BM fighter jets, with 30 of these 44 aircraft operational. Not all of these aircraft will go to Ukraine, however as reported by Army Recognition on April 17, 2024, a portion has sold to Argentina, totaling 24 jets. Sale addresses Argentina's longstanding need to replace its Mirage aircraft, retired in 2015, faced acquisition challenges due to a British embargo on military equipment by UK, components.

Argentina explored various options, including considering the JF-17 Thunder developed by China and Pakistan. However, the election of President Javier Milei led to the confirmation of the purchase of Danish F-16s, a decision influenced by geopolitical considerations, particularly the potential impact of Chinese influence in the region. Therefore, the US authorization in October 2023 allowed for the purchase of the Danish F-16s, which was formalized on April 16, 2024, by Argentine President Javier Milei and Defense Minister Luis Petri. The total cost of the acquisition is estimated at $650 million, covering both aircraft and ammunition.

Russian army had “managed seize hundred k/m of land initiative on battlefield” As Ukraine was waiting fresh U.S. assistance.

A U.S. bill billions in military funding for Ukraine was signed into law earlier this week after stopping more than 4-months of delay. Zelenskyy said it would allow Kyiv’s forces to stabilize the frontline and move forward with its war aims.

The Pentagon says its deliveries of weapons are on their way and will arrive in the coming days, if not sooner.

Russian officials has hit back at U.S. news, saying new arms provisions will harm them. Security will not bring Ukraine any closer to defeating Russia.

Surprise F-16 Update. Ukraine. May 01, 2024 at 6:17

Ukraine will start operating F-16s after Orthodox Easter on May 5, Kyiv has said, as the country contends with devastating Russian bombardment and the long wait for the Western-made fighter jets.

"We are waiting," Ukrainian air force spokes Ilya Yevlash said, the jets will be taking to the skies over war-torn country "after Easter," remarks reported by Ukrainian media on Wednesday.

Ukraine's Western backers Denmark, the , Norwa and  Belgium  and Belgium have
supply Lockheed F-16 aircraft to Ukraine.

Kyiv has long requested advanced jets to upgrade & replenish its air force, battered by more than 2 years of war against Russia's superior & more numerous aircraft. Russia has flying outside reach of Ukraine's air defenses, to launch devastating aerial guided bomb strikes on Ukraine.

Before the jets take off in Ukraine, Western countries say, Ukrainian personnel must complete their training programs, and the necessary infrastructure and facilities must be up and running in the country

Ukrainian optimistic, I'm sure that they will arrive soon," he added.

The F-16s were slated to arrive in the first part of 2024, but Dutch govt announced in January Ukraine would receive an initial batch in the "second quarter" of the year.

"This year, more than a squadron of donated F-16s will start to arrive in Ukraine, along with pilots and maintainers" trained by Ukraine's backers, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said in late April.

Ukraine's Yevlash said earlier this week that Kyiv would welcome non-functional F-16s, whose parts could be used to repair and maintain the operational fleet.

We'd take it :-) Together with the pilots. To intercept missiles.

US pilots would not have to participate in combat operations, we would simply ask them to shoot down missiles far from the front line

A former soldier spoke his training with US a number of years ago where started fighting Russia's full-scale invasion Feb 2022. He fought in hotspots like Kharkiv and Bakhmut served in unit's combat medic, treating comrades when they were injured. He went through training, never got any real training  in conflict. "A little bit of talking about it and just a little bit of training, he has to fought at a disadvantage. US military, he explained, is a "guerilla warfare fighting like it would be with Russia or China." He said this is an issue many NATO members face.

Another veteran of war in Ukraine had similar concerns, his friends still in the US Army ask him for tips on how to fight with drones or in trenches, they aren't getting training fully reflects what is happening in Ukraine.

Questions about multiple NATO countries trained Ukrainian soldiers fights & train as irrelevant or inadequate, those soldiers trained in UK sked how to get through Russia's vast minefields, told just go around them. Problem is Russia's minefields stretch for miles, making it impossible, open areas mined may already be targeted by artillery or other battlefield threat.

In Middle East, US & some NATO allies in Euro need skills, he went through training, he never got real training in conflict. Western soldiers struggle in Ukraine already have a set idea how things should be & it's just not that way out, he believe that a lot of the training we have is tailored fighting a guerilla warfare issue many NATO members face.

Another US veteran in Ukraine had similar concerns, As Ukrainian serviceman walks in a trench as Ukrainian commander who was trained by US, British, and Polish soldiers said last year if he had followed those countries' advice exactly, he would have been killed.

Many Ukrainian units used NATO tactics last summer approaches, overemphasis on maneuver warfare without air support in the face of dense minefields and other daunting barriers, ultimately failed.

April 28, Ukrainian air conducted a strike on Kushchyovskaya airbase Krasnodar Krai, via using a small visual evidence suggests a Russian Su-34 aircraft was also destroyed.
The main success of mission was not the aircraft, but the destruction of warehouse contained stockpile of Russia’s most potent weapons: KAB-500 glide bomb.

KAB-500: A air-launched munition used by Soviet Union (1970s) first iteration bomb, known as KAB-500L, use as laser guidance & movable fins to maneuver toward target after fired from aircraft. As upgraded to KAB-500S-E laser guidance system for a more sophisticated satellite uplink. Its satellite guidance system is tethered to “GLOSNASS,” a Russian-developed alternative to GPS. This is Russia analog answer to US JDAM “dumb bombs” to accurately maneuver & fly towards a target over a great distance

KAB carries large payload to strike docks and fortified military installations. But can history a Ukrainian city with a few KAB..

Faced with such threat, Ukrainian AirForces  has more then two strategies, 1st target & destroy KAB stockpiles whenever possible, ops for shrinking Russia’s inventory first those in there (glide bombs). 2nd strategy (which we will see in coming day) use of F-16 to destroy inbound KABs in air intercept by aircraft.

Anticipation is building as F-16s will enter Ukraine for first time in the coming day. After being in service for more than 50 years and undergoing many upgrades, F-16 remains one of the world's most popular successful fighter jets. Much has been said about these American-built jets, with claims no F-16s have been lost in an air-to-air battle and that they are game changers.

It will not be reasonable to says for Putin.

He will try to destroy those ill F-16 fighter just b'cos US bring those aircraft without a system base available into Ukraine to fly them in a combat status. or even to park them at an any safe airfield base from which they couldn’t quickly disperse, Putin said the airbase will became under his imminent Russian attacks soon.
