After stepping down as Prime Minister of Singapore in 2024, Lee Hsien Loong still holds significant influence and power in the following ways:
1. Senior Minister: He became Senior Minister, a newly created position, allowing him to continue advising the government.
2. Chairman of the GIC: He remains Chairman of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), managing Singapore's foreign reserves.
3. Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS): He continues to chair MAS, overseeing Singapore's financial sector.
4. Member of Parliament: He remains a Member of Parliament, allowing him to participate in parliamentary debates and shape policy decisions.
5. Influence over the People's Action Party (PAP): As a senior figure in the PAP, he still wields significant influence within the party.
While he has stepped down as Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong's continued involvement in key positions ensures his experience and expertise remain valuable assets to the government, allowing him to maintain a level of power and influence.
