Majority Democratic delegates endorse Harris after massive fundraising day

Harris had won endorsements:  from Democratic party's pledged convention delegates. Threshold is 1,976 delegates, and NBC estimates Harris has spoken or written backing of 1,992 delegates. The party's Harris' position as frontrunner is rock solid, & no potential challengers have signaled they intend to vie for the nomination. In the hours since President Joe Biden announced, he would end his teetering reelection campaign, Harris Democratic party have pulled in roughly $250 million in online donations & major donor commitments.

The Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue has processed $106 million in contribution since Joe Biden dropped out, according to automated tracker. There are working on rebranded overnight as "Harris for President campaign". Over the past 24 hours, major donors have made contribution commitments totaling $150 million to the Harris election effort. Since Sunday, more than 888,000 small-dollar donors have contributed to Harris campaign, said a memo on late Monday.

The pledges to Future Forward were described to NBC News as coming from donors who had been sitting on sidelines for past month, amid concerns about Biden as the nominee. Historic fundraising numbers are energizing Democrats and breathing new life into their bid to defeat former President Donald Trump and his Republican running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio.

Harris says she will spend the coming weeks uniting the Democratic Party “so we are ready to win in November”. She was addressing voters for the first time since she secured enough support to become the Democratic Party's nominee for president. The Vice-president Kamala Harris says Donald Trump "wants to take our country backward", speaking at a campaign rally in Milwaukee, in critical swing state of Wisconsin.

It comes after two senior Democrats - Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer and House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries - "proudly" endorsed Kamala Harris to run for president.

President Biden has said he will address the nation tomorrow from the Oval Office following his decision not to seek a second term.

In other news, the head of the US Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle says she plans to quit "with heavy heart" following security lapses in the run up to the assassination attempt on Trump.

Vice-President Kamala Harris has given her first major campaign speech since securing enough support to become the Democratic Party's nominee for president. She used it to hit out at Republican candidate Donald Trump - who she says "wants to take our country backward" - as well as outlining her key policy priorities, including tackling child poverty, protecting reproductive rights, and keeping people safe from "the terror of gun violence" Meanwhile incumbent President Joe Biden says he will address the nation tomorrow, after announcing his decision not to seek a second term.

Earlier on Tuesday he headed back to Washington DC from his beach home in Delaware, where he was recovering from Covid. Elsewhere, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle announced her resignation, after admitting "the most serious operational failure" in the lead up to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump

We choose freedom’: Kamala Harris campaign launches first ad. Optimistic video has Beyoncé’s anthem as a soundtrack touches on gun violence, health care and abortion. During which Harris also broke funding records and quickly clinched enough delegate support to become the presumptive nominee in an election that is now just over 100 days away. Released on Friday morning, the ad opens with shots of Harris’s smiling face behind a podium, the word Kamala, the word Harris, and the American flag.

The soundtrack is Beyoncé’s song Freedom, she entered and exited her first speech to campaign staffers after gaining lightning speed on the road to becoming presumptive nominee. The ad is narrated by Harris, whose first words are, “In this election we each face question. What kind of country do we want to live in?”

She continues: “There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos. Of fear. Of hate,” she says, over shots of Trump and JD Vance. “But us, we choose something different.”

The voiceover pauses for a crowd chanting, “Kamala! Kamala! Kamala!”

Harris gains ground in polls as Trump tries to brand her a Marxist. HOUSTON, July 25 (Reuters) - Vice President Kamala Harris took her presidential campaign blitz to the largest U.S. teachers' union on Thursday, promising a "fight for the future" as new opinion polls showed her narrowing the gap with Republican rival Donald Trump.

Harris' swift emergence as the successor to President Joe Biden, 81, as the Democratic presidential candidate in the Nov. 5 election has shaken up a stagnant presidential race, with polls showing her narrowing former President Trump's advantage. Adress in Houston to the American Federation of Teachers, Harris, 59, focused on economic policy and workers' rights, touting plans for affordable healthcare and child care and criticizing Republicans for blocking gun limits in the wake of school shootings.

"Ours is a fight for the future," Harris told a crowd of about 3,500 people. "We are in a fight for our most fundamental freedoms for future leaders, I say: Bring it on."

Hear what VP Harris says when she told Israel's Netanyahu: U.S. Vice President and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris talks about her meeting with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu where she said she would ensure that Israel would be able to defend itself and urged an end to the war in Gaza.

Harris’ comments provided the clearest explanation yet of her views on the conflict in Israel / Hamas War - as compare to her boss, reference to U.S. president Biden.

She works to balance the issue that has not only divided US as a country but caused friction within Democratic Party. Harris echoed Biden’s repeated comments about America’s “ironclad support” & “unwavering commitment” to Israel, but she conveyed a forcefulness on ending the war.

ATLANTA: Former US president Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama have endorsed Kamala Harris in her White House bid, giving the vice president the expected but still crucial backing of the nation’s two most popular Democrats.

The endorsement, announced Friday (Jul 26) morning in a video showing Harris accepting a joint phone call from the former first couple, comes as Harris continues to build momentum as the party’s likely nominee after President Joe Biden’s decision to end his reelection bid and endorse his second-in-command against Republican nominee and former president Donald Trump.

Judge who ordered Trump to pay $454 million says he was ‘accosted’ by lawyer, he won’t recuse himself from case, the judge said over three (3) years into the litigation, his recusal would result in “immense prejudice.”

Trump asked Judge Arthur Engoron to step aside from the case, which is on appeal, alleging he engaged in “prohibited communications” with a real estate lawyer about the case be4 his decision was rendered earlier this year. “I'm (he) supremely confident in my (his) ability to continue to serve, as I always have, impartially,” Engoron wrote in an order Thursday.

US Vice President Kamala Harris is by far the more pro-business candidate in 2024 race for White House, according to Democratic megadonor and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman. The LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman is throwing his financial firepower behind Vice President Kamala Harris. Hoffman, who has donated $7 mil to leading pro-Biden and now Harris super PAC, told CNN he’s “redoubling” efforts to support the campaign and has “great hope” that Harris will become the United States’ first woman president. But the billionaire argued if Harris wins in November, she should install a new antitrust cop in place of Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan.

“Lina Khan is…a person who is not helping America,” Hoffman told CNN in his first on-camera interview since President Joe Biden stepped aside as the presumptive Democratic nominee. “I would hope that Vice President Harris would replace her.”

Hoffman, who sits on board of Microsoft, a company that has clashed with the FTC, said Khan is operating “outside the scope” of her job at the FTC.

Trump claims Biden's exit from 2024 presidential race was a 'coup'. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said incumbent US President Joe Biden was forced to exit the presidential race, describing it a "coup" by the Democratic Party.

This was a coup of a man that had 14 million votes. He wanted to run. They wouldn't let him run. They treated him horribly. They said to him, we can do it the nice way, or we can do it the hard way. To Joe, he's president, Trump claimed. The former president's remarks came during an election rally in Minnesota on Saturday.
