Before the current hostilities triggered by Hamas invading Israel on 7 Oct 2023, the last time any foreign nation fought a war against Israel was the 1973 Yom Kippur War. The 1979 Camp David Accords ended the war between Israel and Egypt. After the PLO took over South Lebanon and attacked Israel’s northern cities, the Israelis defeated the PLO. Hezbollah terrorists then took up the fight against Israel, which retaliated to protect their citizens in the north. Palestinians in the West Bank carried out a violent uprising against Israeli soldiers and citizens until the 1990s. During the Gulf War, Saddam Hussein attacked Israel with Scud missiles, but the Israelis did not retaliate. PLO leader Yasser Arafat murdered more than 1,000 Israeli citizens during the 2nd Intifada that lasted several years. Following the 2nd uprising, Israel withdrew all its soldiers from the Gaza Strip. Hamas terrorists seized control of the Gaza Strip and carried out rocket attacks against Israeli citizens. Israel responded by destroying military targets. Hezbollah and Hamas are proxies of Iran, which has forgotten that Israel has never lost a war since it was created in 1948.
