Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s daughter, Nooryana Najwa, has been appointed to Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) board of directors. Announcing it in Facebook post last night, Matrade chairperson Reezal Merican Naina Merican said  appointment letter was presented at the board of directors meeting yesterday.

A month after the coalition (now Madani) government took office, all political appointees who were chairpersons and board members in government-linked firms and statutory bodies were sacked. Their termination letters, signed by then-chief secretary to the government Mohd Zuki Ali, stated that the cabinet had made this decision.
