Healthy competition is fine but military threat and intimidation are dangerous. Blinken and VP came all the way to Southeast Asia to talk bad about China and to stir shit, it is not going to work, it only makes the US look bad in the region. Blinken never realizes that China has invested a great deal in the region over the past decades and has good relationship with ASEAN countries despite of SCS disputes, the total amount of Chinese investment in Southeast Asia now exceeds its investment in the US already. ASEAN has been all along neglected by the US, neither Obama nor Trump turned up in ASEAN Summits in the past.
