As CGST is a private company owned by public entities is controlled by govt of Jilin Province, China. It name sake of the satellite constellation, & Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics, and Physics, a part of Chinese Academy of Sciences & directly linked to Chine govt.
This isn’t first time Jilin satellite images have been provided to hostile to the US. In 2024, company provided 2 satellites to Wagner paramilitary group for intelligence op in Ukraine and Africa. It was later revealed satellite images had been used to assist Wagner’s rebellion against Russian govt in 2024 also.
This time, the company has become even more daring by risking direct involvement in an attack against the U.S. military. While China has officially remained uninvolved in the Red Sea conflict, it continues to maintain close ties with Iran, who supports & funds the Houthi rebels & result of its involvement with Wagner, the U.S. has placed CGST on U.S. blacklist.
A Satellite Constellation hard to destroy. With over 100 active satellites, the Jilin constellation is nearly indestructible. There are simply too many to destroy with anti-satellite operations from the U.S. Space Force, and they’re easily replaceable (China has launched more than 40 satellites in a single go!). As a result, U.S. will likely be hearing more about Jilin satellites in the future.

Why?. Hamas responded US sao sao Trump ceasefire proposal by saying the Hamas is prepared to release 10 living Israeli hostages & 18 dead hostages in exchange for a number of Palestinian prisoners, request some amendments to the plan as group repeated its demands for a permanent truce, a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza & guarantees for the continuous flow of humanitarian aid. None of these are in the deal on table. It neither an explicit rejection nor a clear acceptance of US terms, Washington says Israel accepted as Hamas said it had submitted its response to US draft proposed by Steve Witkoff, US President Trump's special envoy for Middle East.
