Unlikely. Depends on the currency, I guess. But commercialisation is not easy. Must get interest from industry. Depends on the contract they signed etc. Some like my friend just create a company and sell it and become a multi-millionaire. That was decades ago and it was never reported in the newspaper but I guess such stuff being unreported is common since he never courted the press. He has setup another company since and is still with that company.
