Must know what is National Debt. The absolute value in USD means nothing. Must measure in terms of Debt to GDP ratio; then again what is the debt for. For business & investment (money makes money). debt is a good thing; for gambling or other things & homeownership(in recession), debt is a bad thing for example.
The US has a debt to GDP ratio of 133%, Japan: 257%, China 69%. Does it mean US is worst off than China? and Japan is much worse than US and China?
Likewise, Singapore, it has a Debt to GDP ratio of 138%. Malaysia : 71%. Does it mean Singapore is not better than Malaysia? What about Parkistan and France and other example?
