Fact is Taiwan's future rest in Chinese hands on both sides of the straits ever since the KMT lost the Civil War in 1949.
Then in 1971, the Taiwan gov was kicked out of UN after Assembly resolution vote that recognise Bejing as the legitimate gov of One China.
To further rub this in, the US in 1972 under Nixon decided to switch side and befriend Beijing, basically betraying TW gov.
So tell me, which one of the above shows Taiwanese have any option to decide?
