wonder if that is the result of over zealous reducing carbon foot print activities causing sudden change in heat map.
my projection of conditions ahead.
food. wheat and sunflower oil will be short supply causing other food price to increase as well.
why. higher input price and war conditions in ukraine. and sanctions of russia.
war has meant road access to farm area in ukraine is affected. hence lesser surface area are planted. war has cause finance to jam to front as every suppliers of fertilizers, seed etc will want upfront payment. result is a smaller planting area. water is a problem in current drought conditions. and if by winter planting time is still dry dry. next year harvest will be poor for the reduce planted area.
users of wheat therefore taken advantage of current low cost compared to few months ago to load up wheat flour in store and buy some forward contract, by placing next year volume with suppliers at current price for next year supply.
in direct impact of other food. food oil. sunflower short supply will continue to drive palm oil price higher. palm farmers will have some luck. consumer will continue to pay higher price.
