My Indonesian friend, very daringly said strange that some HKgers don’t speak Mandarin in front of the Cantonese-speaking taxi driver. Born Chinese but don’t speak Mandarin. One side speaks Mandarin while the other insists on speaking Cantonese.

Actually, his Mandarin is learned over the years by mixing around.

Ask you something: did your ancestors  speak Mandarin ? Or did they speak Cantonese/ Hokkien etc ?
If not Mandarin speaking ,  they were not Chinese ?
And you should feel ashamed of them .
