This collapse was due to the earthquake that shook the whole Taiwan with different degree of tremor. The epic center was in eastern part of Taiwan that were Hualian and Taitung on 18 September with a 6.7 Richter scales.

While Taoyuan which is located in the northwestern region of Taiwan was only experiencing 3 Richter scale. And most building structures are supposed to be able to withstand up to 7 Richter scales but this badminton hall ceiling falls with just 3 Richter scales.

Investigation found that the material used for the ceiling were with problems. The Taoyuan current Mayor has said that he will bear all responsibility but has blamed the contractor to pay for all the damages. More details will be disclosed in the coming days.
