It is never wrong to invest; even investing in companies dealing with cryptocurrency, provided due diligence checking has been carried out on the company. It is ok if such businesses were to go bad because of economical reasons.

In the case of Temasek's investment in FTX, there must be a miss in carrying out the due diligence checking. Temasek and the Singapore Government must investigate why they could not flag the FTX's scandals in such due diligence checking so that we could prevent it from happening again.
