Yup, press the power and home button together , that is Restart the ipad , I always do that once a while weekly.
I also do this and the apple logo never appear , but I press the home button got Siri sound.

Thus I confirm the screen is gone , actually i think is loose connection but nevertheless is hard for common folks to fix since we don't have the tools also don't repair before so no choice go find people fix.
