Just like hype surrounding dedollarisation which is hampered by massive debts of countries demninated by US dollars (23 trillion) and securities traded in US dollar (>100T) China many deals with many weak currency countries like Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela etc will backfire badly as it increase the amount of offshore Yuan that will make it's way to speculators who can use it to weaken the Yuan.

China will waste alot of capital investments to reinvent what is done in semi conductors elsewhere fo catch up. This will weaken China as it cuts investments in other areas to fund the semiconductor catch up.
