The ones sold in cake shops do not used brandy.  They want to save cost.

Tiramisu tastes better with a hint of alcohol.  Just a hint, not add so much as to make peepur drunk.

Btw, I ate this in China as well. Damn cheap there.  For RMB 7 - 10, you get a slice which is one and a half to two times bigger than ours here.  But that was before the Wu...I mean covid time.  I don't know what the shops there charge now.
