Seems like they haven't let go of their worldly attachment yet. They must have done something incorrectly when walking the Noble Eightfold Path. May be they have....

2. Wrong thought
3. Wrong speech
4. Wrong action
5. Wrong Livelihood
6. Wrong effort
7. Wrong mindfulness
8. Wrong concentration.
