TAIPEI – A high-profile government spokeswoman in Taiwan has resigned after a media outlet reported that she had an affair with a government-appointed bodyguard. The Presidential Office said Ms Kolas Yotaka tendered her resignation on Wednesday to avoid any negative impact on its work.

President Tsai Ing-wen approved the resignation, it added.
